Heathrow is to have a direct connection with the American hub of Salt Lake City from next Summer.

Delta is to launch the new daily service from May 1 – initially for the Summer season only, although this may be changed if it proves popular.

Flights will depart Salt Lake City at 8:10 p.m. and arrive in London at 1:10 p.m. the next day. Return flights will leave Heathrow Airport at 2:15 p.m. and arrive at the Salt Lake City International Airport at 6:07 p.m.

The service will be code-shared with Virgin Atlantic and is expected to be operated by Boeing 767 jets.

Salt Lake City, the state capital of Utah, offers an attractive  mix of business and leisure traffic. It is an important centre for industrial banking and it’s mountains are popular with walkers and skiers.
