In a week of milestones, Singapore Airlines has today (3 June) reached its own by celebrating its 45th year of flying from Heathrow.

Considered one of the world’s best airlines, Singapore Airlines has celebrated a number of historical moments since their first flight landed on 3rd June 1971, one key event in particular being the airline that operated the UK’s first ever Airbus A380 commercial flight back in March 2008. Since then, they’ve won a number of awards and accolades, including Skytrax’s prestigious 5-Star Airline Rating in 2015. Today they offer five daily flights between London & Singapore operating both the A380 and the Boeing 777-300.

Sheldon Hee, General Manager UK & Ireland, Singapore Airlines, said: “This anniversary marks 45 years of a great relationship with Heathrow Airport and with our UK customers – both of whom we would like to thank for their long-standing support. We like to think we have continually brought new levels of customer experience to the UK consumer since we first started flying here all those years ago and are very much looking forward to continuing this trend and creating more history together over the years still to come.”
