Virgin Atlantic has announced today (21 February) that they will be operating a new route from Heathrow to Barbados later in the year.

Flights will start on 12 December 2017 and will run twice a week on Tuesdays and Saturdays as part of its winter schedule. Customers travelling from Scotland will now have easier connections thanks to the new codeshare agreement between Virgin and FlyBe with FlyBe launching their new Heathrow flights from Aberdeen and Edinburgh next month.

Shai Weiss, Chief Commercial Officer at Virgin Atlantic, said: “The Caribbean has always been a core market for Virgin Atlantic and so we’re excited to announce we’re offering more choice to our customers with the option of flying from Heathrow, Gatwick or Manchester direct to Barbados.”

The services will operate using the Airbus A330-300, this will include a full configuration of 33 Upper Class, 48 Premium Economy and 185 Economy seats. Economy fares start from £649 per person (including tax) and will be on sale from Saturday 25 February.
