Italy flights to Heathrow continue despite Coronavirus quarantine

Flights between the UK and Italy are still continuing despite an enforced quarantine in the northern part of the country.

British Airways has cancelled its flights between Heathrow and Milan but Alitalia is continuing to operate services between the two cities.

Italy has the highest number of recorded cases of the Coronavirus in Europe and there is concern that the continuation of travel between London and Milan will result in an increase of people in Britain catching the virus. 319 people in the UK have now been infected and a fifth person is now known to have died as of today (March 9).
