Feeling exhausted, jet-lagged, short of time, trying to cope with early or late flights ? Heathrow has several hotels adjoining the airport or connected via a walkway.
Not so long ago, the only connected hotel was the Hilton by Terminal 4 then came the luxurious Sofitel next to Terminal 5 – opened by a host of celebrities including Bruce Forsyth.
More recently, particularly since the redevelopment of Terminal 2, others have appeared. All offer the same attraction – an easy bed for the night without the need to get a shuttle bus, taxi or other transport.
There’s a significant cluster of hotels next to Terminal 4 where there is more development space available. And it is of course possible to transit between terminals using rail or bus – but make sure you have plenty of time if you take this option
Hotels connected to Heathrow terminals
Terminal 2
Hilton Garden Inn
Direct access to Terminal 2 via a covered walkway. Terminal 3 is also accessible on foot via the pedestrian underpass.
Best for passengers flying from T2 or T3 who want a conventional full-service hotel.
Terminal 3
Aerohotel
An unusual hotel built within the existing terminal building.
Many rooms are cabin-style with no windows but can be booked for shorter stays as well as overnight stays.
Terminal 4
Hilton
A full-service hotel with restaurants, a gym and business facilities, linked directly to T4 via a covered pedestrian walkway although it can be a bit of a walk. Nice design built around as central open concourse.
Premier Inn
More budget-oriented option, with access to T4 via the covered walkway.
Crowne Plaza
An alternative full-service hotel in the T4 hotel complex, with covered pedestrian access to the terminal.
Holiday Inn Express
A convenient option for a simple overnight stay, with covered access to T4.
Terminal 5
Sofitel
Direct covered carpeted access to T5, making it especially convenient for British Airways departures from this terminal. A luxury hotel with restaurants, bars and spa facilities. Has a good underground car park for guest use.
