American Express lounge draws on the “rhythms and reflections” of River Thames for inspiration

American Express is opening a new terminal 5 ‘centurion’ lounge for its cardholders – but you’ll have to wait until 2028 for access.

It’ll be airside and occupy a stunning 9000 square feet site. Access will likely be for platinum card holders and above.

Inspiration comes from the “many cultures, histories and influences that come together in London” says American Express.

The design also draws on the “rhythm and reflections of the River Thames” for inspiration, it says.

It’s the second American Express lounge at Heathrow and follows an already-open facility in terminal 3.
