Virgin prepares for new Heathrow-Phuket service

Virgin Atlantic is preparing for new a seasonal service between Heathrow and the Thai resort area Phuket on 18 October, flying three times a week on a Boeing 787-9. It will be the only direct route between London Heathrow and Phuket.

Flights will operate from Heathrow’s Terminal 3 with the first departure is on Sunday 18 October, a week before airlines switch to their winter schedules.

The journey takes about 13 hours, with fares reported from £647 one way giving UK travellers a direct route to one of Thailand’s most popular beach destinations, with no stopover.

Phuket is Virgin’s second new asian long-haul route this year, after Seoul. The two are now the airline’s longest services.
