Need some noise-cancelling headphones to help you while away the hours on a long, never-ending flight? A new departures-area store at Heathrow offers a listening booth to try out its range of headphones against different ambient noise levels. Just the thing for a last-minute purchase to ensure a peaceful journey.

It’s one of the customer facilities available at InMotion, a new store in terminal 5 for technology products

This outlet, owned by WH Smith, is the latest opening of the 30 technology stores the company won across UK airports last summer, and at 3,400 sq. ft this flagship space is the largest InMotion store globally.

The new store offers customers the latest technology products and accessories, including tablets, digital action cameras and headphones, as well as an extensive range of travel accessories, such as adaptors, portable chargers and cases, from leading international brands including Apple, Samsung, Sony, Nikon, GoPro, Beats by Dr. Dre, Bose and Fitbit, as well as an extensive offer of own brand InMotion products.

Within the store environment, the technology products are brought to life for customers with an engaging experiential zone, which includes a listening booth allowing customers to trial noise- cancelling headphones against different ambient noise levels, a pop-up events space for product launches and brand competitions, interactive LED screens, and live product demonstrations.

Andrew Harrison, Managing Director, WH Smith Travel, commented: “We’re delighted to have opened our largest and most remarkable InMotion store yet at Heathrow Terminal 5, marking the latest milestone in our partnership with the airport that spans over 75 years. Technology is an increasingly essential part of our customers’ journeys and, within this new flagship store, we’re making it easy for people to experience the latest tech and get the support and advice they need to help them choose the perfect product for their journey. We have received great feedback from passengers travelling through Heathrow and the team looks forward to welcoming more customers to this fantastic new store over the coming months.”
