We're open says Heathrow store sign

These our difficult times for everyone. The pandemic is taking a heavy toll but people recognise that there is a need for effective air travel from both a business and personal point of view.

Heathrow and most airlines have gone to huge lengths to provide a service which is as safe as possible. Long haul services are significantly reduced but there are many short-haul flights available, particularly on approved routes.

Things are gradually opening up although the airport is still eerily quiet. Face coverings are compulsory, social distancing is ubiquitous but more and more shops and other facilities are becoming available.

But what are things like for the passenger?

We took an early morning European flight and were pleasantly surprised by the ease of transit but all the precautions being taken wherever possible.
